In Egyptian mythology, Astennu (also spelt
Asten, Isten, Astes, and Isdes) refers to
a baboon associated with Thoth.
He was one of four baboons who stood around
the lake of fire at the place of judgement
in Duat, and consequently
associated with Utennu.
